Tuesday May 31

Today I started off by going to morning workouts for football. And then I met up with a series 7 tutor provided by training consultants and I started at 9 and went until 1. We covered as much as we could, and went over material so I thoroughly understood it.

Weekend

I spent the weekend working from about 9-4 each day and slowly got through more and more of the material.

Friday May 27th

Today I got to the office around 8 and worked until 4. In that time span I was able to get a couple more chapters done. Including finishing of margin accounts and Investment companies. Tomorrow I start Chapter 9 on Government securities, and right now I am about halfway through the study plan.

Thursday May 26th

My overall purpose of taking this exam is that it is something that most businesses in the securities business require you take before you start up. By taking the exam early it will help me by not having to take it later when I have a lot of other things going on. After taking the exam I wouldn't be able to start trading until I am 18, which is in October.
Today I finished off the remainder of the chapters on options, which were chapters 4 and 5. And I also finished chapter 6 on customer accounts. I didn't get as far as I would like and I got out of the office at 4:30. Tomorrow I will start on chapter 7, which is on cash and margin accounts and hopefully get a solid day in.

Wednesday May 25th

Today I got into the office around 8 and started studying immediately. My goal for today is to complete chapters 3,4, and 5. These chapters are on options and they require the longest amount of time to get through. I got through chapter 3, but I did not make it to 4 or 5 which are much shorter chapters. I worked until 3 and then I had to leave for football practice. Tomorrow I plan on staying later in order to get through the chapters I didn't reach and the ones that I had scheduled for tomorrow. 10 days left until the test!

Tuesday May 24th

Today was the first day of spring at sage but, it was not my first day of work. I started on monday and I have been studying for the series 7 for a couple days now. The series 7 is the general securities representative exam, which qualifies candidates to work with the public in the solicitation, purchase, and sale of most securities. On top of studying for the series 7 I sometimes attend meetings just to get a sense of what is going on. My overall goal is to take and pass the series 7 exam, which I take on June 4th. And to attend meetings and learn more about business in general. The test is a 260 question multiple choice test that takes a total of 6 hours to take. After Monday and today I have finished the first 2 chapters which are on Equity Securities, and Fundamentals of Bonds / Corporate Bonds. And I am right on track of my study plan.
